The project aims to improve the quality of life for disabled people within the local community through the provision of a locally based Day Care Centre which will provide employment workshops to promote integration with the able bodied. Glenshane Care Centre operates in the Dungiven area to offer a community based day care service for people with disabilities. The centre offers a high quality service closely tailored to the needs of it's users via monitored, individual care plans, with the advantage that users are enabled to avail of this in their local community. The Centre currently caters for 23 adults with physical and/or learning disabilities on each of three days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The aim of the organisation is to provide this service five days per week when more funding becomes available. |
